Quilting Class with Mrs. Macbeth
One of my favorite co-op classes I ever took part in was a quilting class, taught by Mrs. Pamela Macbeth. I had recently learned to use a sewing machine, so it was a good opportunity to put my skills to use.
All the girls in the class, (Jessica Vandervort, Kirsten White, and me) made a post-and-rail quilt. It was very pleasant to be sitting at our sewing machines, chatting, with the quiet hum of the machines in the background.
This particular class taught me perseverance, because I had put most of the quilt together, when I realized that some of the squares didn’t line up, and I had to do it all over again!
In the end, the quilt was extremely pretty, and I can’t believe that I actually made it! A lot of people have commented on how good my quilt looked.
The only bad thing about the class was that buying all the fabric for the quilt, plus the quilting supplies needed, turned out to be VERY expensive.
